Project Assistant (Part-Time, Remote)
Help keep communication and logistics moving for a freelance lighting designer working in theatre and live production.
Schedule: approximately 5–10 hours per week, depending on workload. [ Pay: $15–25/hr, 1099. ] Flexible schedule.
Some weeks may be lighter, and occasional weeks may be busier.
This position supports a working designer by helping keep communication organized, gathering information when needed, and making sure important details don’t slip through the cracks.
Weekly check-in. No travel. Fully remote.
Responsibilities:
Help manage project communication and keep conversations moving
Request or collect information needed to keep projects on track
Flag important deadlines or issues
Keep project details organized
Coordinate simple logistics or scheduling as needed
Requirements:
Reliable internet connection
Ability to check email regularly and respond during normal business hours
Comfortable communicating by email and phone when needed
Able to keep track of details and follow through without needing frequent reminders
Not required, but would be great:
Experience in theatre, live events, or production environments
Familiarity with lighting plots or Vectorworks
This is a support role. No creative or financial decisions. You're helping one working designer stay organized, not managing a company. This role may expand over time depending on fit and workload.
